TE Antonio Gates looked active and light on his feet during the open portion of practice, an encouraging sign for a player who has practiced just once since the Sept. 18 game against New England.
"It was good to have him back," Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers said. "He looked good as he always does. It'll be interesting to see how he feels and what ends up happening on Sunday, but anytime you add a player of his caliber, it's certainly a positive."
While encouraging, we'd like to see Gates ramp up his practice participation this week without any setbacks before plugging him into our starting lineup.
