Announcing Kyle Orton as the Broncos' starting QB stirred all the reaction of a saint entering heaven.
No surprise, really, although there is significance in the moment, anyway.
Chris Simms took the news like an angel.
"Kyle's extremely underrated," Simms said while fielding questions regarding his personal defeat in the offseason quarterback competition at Dove Valley. "I've always felt that way. He was underrated in college, he was underrated with the Bears. He throws the ball very well. He's a smart guy. He's a big guy. There's a lot of pluses about Kyle, and I have the ultimate respect for his game."
Broncos coach Josh McDaniels notified Orton and Simms of his decision Friday night.
