9ers WR Morgan hurt on final play

Starting flanker Josh Morgan sustained a knee strain on the final play when the 49ers ill-advisedly pressed forward, trying to score a touchdown in the final seconds. The team reported it's a strain, which means it's an injury to a muscle or tendon. The extent of the injury is not known, but unless the 49ers misdiagnosed it, it rules out any ligament damage.

But we do not know if Morgan will miss any time. Also, receiver Ted Ginn has missed two games with a knee sprain. He could return to action this week, but this might not be the time to send a message to Michael Crabtree.

After all, the 49ers' offense would be a whole lot better if Crabtree and Smith spend more time working together and get on the same page.
