The 49ers worked out and then promptly signed former Cleveland running back Shaun Draughn on Monday to help supplement their battered backfield.

The 6-foot, 205-pound Draughn played sparingly with the Browns this year, carrying just twice for 10 yards and catching two passes for 1 yard. Undrafted in 2011, Draughn has also spent time with Washington, Kansas City, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Chicago and San Diego.

Draughn has rushed for 264 yards and two touchdowns in his five NFL seasons.
