49ers not sure Carlos Hyde will play again this year

Running back Carlos Hyde, who has not practiced or played since Oct. 22 due to a stress fracture in his right foot, might not get his wish of playing again this season, 49ers coach Jim Tomsula said.

"I don't know if Carlos will play this year or not,” Tomsula said on Monday at the his press conference at Levi’s Stadium. “I know Carlos would like to try and play."

Fantasy Impact:

Hyde’s return has been in question since he exited the lineup after attempting to play two games with the foot injury. He could require surgery to help repair the fracture of his fifth metatarsal. Hyde is the 49ers’ leading rusher with 470 yards despite missing the past five games, the story said. With the 49ers not going anywhere, it would make sense to just shelf their RB.
