Yahoo Week 3 Slate Breakdown with Cash and GPP Picks

If you survived the injury apocalypse from Week 2, congratulations. It was a brutal week and as a result, Week 3 appears to be the week of the backup quarterback. That makes this slate easily the most interesting we’ve had so far this season and it’ll be interesting to see how people attack it after all of these injuries.

Main Slate Cash Game Strategy

Quarterback

Josh Allen ($30) is someone that is tough for me to get away from, especially when he is discounted so much. The guy has been a top-three fantasy quarterback over the last eight weeks dating back to last season, while averaging around nine rushes per game during that span. He’s now scored a rushing touchdown in each of the first two games, seeing two carries from inside the five-yard line. Look for him to keep it going this week against a Bengals defense that has already allowed three passing touchdowns of 40 yards or more this season, while also coughing up 10.3 yards per pass attempt, the third-highest mark in football. Allen is still taking plenty of shots down the field, as 12% of his attempts have traveled 20 yards or more down the field, while averaging four deep attempts per game. Against a Bengals defense that allows a ton of big plays, Allen has immense upside, while his rushing gives him a high floor.
