Thursday Night DFS Single-Game Breakdown: Saints at Falcons

A few weeks ago, the Atlanta Falcons went into New Orleans and shocked the football-viewing public with an upset win. The Saints will get their chance at revenge in the Thanksgiving Day Primetime game with Drew Brees bringing their high powered offense into Atlanta. Vegas has the Saints as strong road favorites, but there are some plays from the Falcons side that could make all the difference in our DFS lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Let's break down the game and how we can find the edge that might get us at the top of the leaderboards.

Injuries

Julio Jones, ATL, WR - Questionable

The big news here is the status of Julio Jones, who has a banged-up shoulder and is a game-time decision, but we're projecting him to play. Him being out or even limited is a big boost for Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage, and it'll also drive his ownership substantially down even if he does play, so this is news we need to keep an eye on heading into kickoff.

Evaluation of Vegas Spread and Total

New Orleans -7 Over/Under 48

Vegas sees the visiting team dominating the game with a fair amount of points being scored. I think they see the Falcons disappointing performance last week as being enough to offset their strong previous two weeks. I see the game being high-scoring with the Saints prevailing, and I'm accounting for some blowout potential, but I think it'll be competitive for most of the game.
