DraftKings Week 12 Slate Breakdown with Cash and GPP Picks

Below you'll find my Week 12 DraftKings cash game and tournament strategies. By offering a general approach to the week, along with a player pool to consider, you should walk away feeling well-equipped no matter your bankroll strategy or game selection process.

UPDATE:

  • Leonard Fournette has surpassed LeVeon Bell for me in terms of cash game usability. This is another week where I don't think Christian McCaffrey is a lock for cash games, but he's definitely a top play if you can find the salary to save at other positions.
  • Patrick Laird has really had his name tossed around as a potential salary saver, and while I don't doubt that he could reel in a few catches and maybe hit paydirt, sacrificing the safety and upside of the pay up running backs in cash is not something I'm willing to do. I'd rather play a cheaper wide receiver who has around the same floor, but a higher probability of a big play.
  • I did a pretty deep dive into the value wide receivers and think all the players listed below are considerable today, you basically just have to be on the correct ones.
    • Taylor Gabriel - leading Bears in air yards and targets the last two weeks and offers a higher ceiling than most cheap receivers
    • Chris Conley - Westbrook is banged up but will probably try to play, however Conley played 92% of snaps last week and seems to be a preferred target of Foles. I'd expect to see extra attention paid to Chark this week as well
    • Hunter Renfrow - Alarming that he plays only about half the snaps, but he leads the Raiders in targets the last few weeks and has a massive .37 fantasy points per snap in their last three games. I could see them use him as an extension of the run game this week.
    • N'Keal Harry - I'm not as high on Harry as everone else because I'm always hesitant when it comes to Patriots' receivers. It looks like Sanu is going to test his ankle and theres always the chance they go heavy or just throw to James White and the tight ends.
    • I'm still interested in the value receivers I discuss initially in this article as well
      • Allen Hurns - playing 90%+ snaps, will probably have a favorable game script
      • Demaryius Thomas - A little banged up but seeing one of the better combos of snaps played and target shares for any receiver under $4,000
      • Russell Gage - Third option and Justin Hardy took a step forward last week, but will still be targeted against a team that's terrible against the pass
      • Tim Patrick - Absolutely minimum, but does have a Q tag. This game should not feature a ton of plays, but Patrick has a chance to see the most targets per dollar.

Main Slate Cash Game Strategy

Quarterback

Without the ultimate fantasy football quarterback on the slate, Lamar Jackson, we have to look to the next best option if we are paying up and that is Matt Ryan ($6,700) for Week 12. He is cranking out 300-yard games like they are layups which put his floor at around 15 DraftKings points. The Buccaneers are one of the best matchups for a quarterback in terms of fantasy points allowed. They allow the most schedule-adjusted (aFPA) fantasy points to quarterbacks while allowing the fewest rushing yards in the league. The Falcons' run game seems to be non-existent and even if it weren't I don't think we see the Falcons run the ball much this week. The volume should definitely be there against a defense that won't be able to stop Julio or Ridley. If Hooper can make it back, this is a slam dunk.
