IDP Waiver Wire: Week 4 Pickups and Matchup Plays

We're almost near the quarter point of the NFL season. Hopefully, you've dodged some of the landmines and most of your teams are still intact. We're heading into Week 4, which means the bye weeks begin—this week sees Carolina and Washington taking the week off. If you need to fill in some gaps due to the bye weeks or injury, below are some names to look for on your waiver wire. Then I'll dive into some IDP matchups I'm targeting in Week 4.

Week 4 IDP Waiver Wire

Defensive Back

Denzel Ward, CB, Cleveland Browns (62 snaps/98%)

Ward's value appears to be extending outside CB-premium leagues. Through three weeks, he's been targeted 21 times, however, he's making plays all over the field, not just in man-to-man coverage. He's produced three consecutive games of 11 or more fantasy points, resulting in 0.38 points per snap. He's producing big plays and generating turnovers. He's produced a turnover— either an interception or a fumble—in two of the first three games of the season. He's projecting to be a solid DB3/CB2.

Tre Boston, SS, Arizona Cardinals (73 snaps/99%)

Boston's making the most of his snaps and is bringing some physicality to the defense. He's making his presence known in the defensive backfield and he's making tackles when the ball-carrier comes near him. Through three games, he's averaging six tackles and is producing an 18.4 percent tackle rate over 103 defensive snaps.

Damontae Kazee, SS, Atlanta Falcons (72 snaps/91%)

Kazee is now the Falcons' strong safety by default. Ricardo Allen joins Keanu Allen on IR with an Achilles' injury. Kazee appeared in 92 percent of the snaps against the Saints and should be on the field for the foreseeable future. Kazee recorded 10 total tackle (including eight solos) in Week 3 and will play up in the box. If he's available, he'll be worth adding and has DB2 upside, as long as the Falcons don't bring in any free agents.

Now that the waiver wire is out of the way, below are some favorable Week 4 IDP matchups I'm targeting. If you have specific matchup questions, feel free to tweet at me. You can always refer to my ranks for start/sit tiebreakers.
