Streaming Kickers: Week 17 Targets

For those still playing for championships in Week 17, this is it. Despite what some say, the points coming from your kicker could be the difference between winning it all or taking your ball and going home.

The goal in streaming the kicker position is to roster a player who will return starting kicker fantasy points and in Week 16, four of my five recommendations were all among the top 15. 4for4’s optimal streamer has 206 points this season—good enough for the highest point total at the position.

In order to provide advice you can actually implement, candidates for streaming must be owned in no more than 40 percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues. As always, check 4for4’s rankings when making weekly decisions on any position.

Top Streaming Picks

Dan Bailey (Vikings) vs. Bears

Minnesota is highly motivated this week to secure a playoff berth, or they can also get in with an Eagles loss to Washington. This game’s over/under is only 41, but the Vikings are implied to score 23 of those points and are favored to win by five. Home games are favorable for kickers, and this one has the makings of a solid performance by Bailey. He’s only rostered by 13 percent of Yahoo fantasy managers and can be your hero for Week 17.

Aldrick Rosas (Giants) vs. Cowboys

New York is out of the playoff race, but should still get up to fight against NFC East rival Dallas. This contest has an over/under of 42.5, with the Giants projected to come out on top by 6.5 points. With the Cowboys most likely resting key players on both sides of the ball since their postseason outcome is already a lock, the Giants are implied to post 24.5 in the tilt. Rosas has been solid all season and this week should be no different. He’s on 79 percent of Yahoo waiver wires, and Dallas is ranked 25th in kicker aFPA this season.

Mike Badgley (Chargers) @ Broncos

LA can improve their seeding with a win over a reeling Denver team in Week 17. This AFC West battle has an over/under of 41.5, with 24 of those points implied for the Chargers. Road favorites by 6.5 points, LA should provide ample opportunities for Badgley to add points to your fantasy roster, and he’s right at the streaming cutoff of 40 percent in Yahoo leagues.

Deeper League Streaming Picks

Ryan Succop (Titans) vs. Colts

The line has not been set yet for this win-or-go-home game in the AFC, but both teams will be fighting for their chance to dance this season. Succop hasn’t been the most accurate in 2018, but he has scored at least five fantasy points in his last five contests. Tennessee is at home which is always a plus, and at a 22 percent ownership, Succop is a guy who could assist in your fantasy championship dreams.

Chandler Catanzaro (Panthers) @ Saints

Carolina is out of the playoff hunt and the Saints are locked in with a first-round bye and home field advantage. New Orleans should be resting key players, opening the door for more scoring opportunity for the Panthers. This contest’s line is not set at the time of writing this, but at a two percent ownership on Yahoo, Catanzaro makes a better dart throw than most in larger league formats.
