8 Fantasy Football Risers & Fallers After Preseason Week 3

Draft season is in full-tilt mode, with a just little over a week until NFL kickoff. Analyzing MFL10 ADP, or average draft position from week-to-week during the preseason is helpful to gather an overall impression of where players are being drafted. Drafters of MFL10 best-ball leagues tend to be sharper than your average fantasy football participant, so you may find players will slip a bit further in some leagues than others.

In other words, ADP data is very useful but is not everything, so don’t ride or die with it.

In this piece, I’ll take a look at some of the biggest risers and fallers from the Week 3 of the preseason, comparing their ADP from August 21st to August 28th and how you should approach them moving forward. A player’s ADP can change for a plethora of reasons and diving into the cause of that movement can certainly help come draft time.

Biggest Risers

WR Keelan Cole, Jaguars (+59 overall ADP)

This massive jump has everything to do with a leg injury Marqise Lee sustained during Jacksonville’s Week 3 matchup, and not much Cole did on his own. With Lee on the shelf, Cole appears to be getting all the fantasy-hype, resulting in an almost five-round spike in the wideout’s ADP this week. Personally, I’d pump the brakes a bit on Cole, as Donte Moncrief, Dede Westbrook and even Austin Seferian-Jenkins could easily split Lee’s targets.

RB Adrian Peterson, Redskins (+58 overall ADP)

In his debut as a Washington Redskin, Peterson rushed 11 times for 56 yards, dominating the first-team reps. He was on the field for 14 of the 25 plays with Alex Smith and appears to have plenty left on his 33-year old tires. Clamoring for RB production, drafters responded by grabbing Peterson in the 10th round, as opposed to his 15th round slot from just a week ago. It appears he may be a single-digit rounder before the start of the NFL regular season, which is way too pricey for my liking. You guys are smart, draft at will.

WR Rishard Matthews, Titans (+26 overall ADP)
