15 Yahoo Fantasy Football Sleepers
For the past few seasons, I have looked at John Paulsen’s rankings here on 4for4 and put them side-by-side with average draft position (ADP) data from each of the major sites that host our beloved fantasy football leagues.
That would take many hours to come up with who are the best values and sleepers on the actual sites we play on, instead of just using the overall ADP of a player across all sites.
But this season, there is a fantastic new tool we have unveiled for 4for4 subscribers—the ADP Bargains (Sleepers) tool. It can be found under the Tools heading in the menu above, then under Draft tools.
It essentially takes what I used to do manually and organizes it into a nice table that gets updated throughout the draft season with the latest ADP data from the site you use for your leagues.
Just change the settings to how many QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs you draft, mark whether you play in standard or PPR, and choose where your league is hosted.
Today, we’re going to study who the best PPR and standard league values are for those who play in Yahoo leagues, with the default lineup settings of 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, and a FLEX with the help of our customizable ADP (Sleepers) Bargains tool.
PPR League Values on Yahoo
QB Alex Smith, Washington Redskins
Alex Smith is the best value among quarterbacks in Yahoo leagues. He’s largely going undrafted with an ADP in the 17th round but has a 4for4 top-200 ranking that tags him with an 11th-round value. As our QB18, he’s easy to ignore, but our projection for him is only 10 total points for the season behind our QB10. It’s another notch in the belt among those who believe you should wait on a quarterback in 2018 drafts.
QB Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars
According to the ADP Bargains tool, Bortles is being drafted more than three rounds later than he should be in the 15th round. Only projected to score two fewer points than Alex Smith, it just further illustrates how incredibly deep the QB position is this season. Don’t forget Bortles was the fantasy QB13 and QB11 the past two seasons.
RB Nyheim Hines, Indianapolis Colts
Hines is being drafted outside the top 200 on Yahoo, despite the fact we have him ranked as a FLEX option among RBs in PPR leagues. No RB has a bigger bargain score in our ADP Bargains tool. He’s being drafted 10-11 rounds later than he should be on Yahoo. That is insane value for a rookie RB who has reportedly already established himself as a player who will be utilized in his rookie season, perhaps heavily with the depth chart unclear.
RB Theo Riddick, Detroit Lions
Riddick keeps showing up in this column year after year because fantasy players don’t want to trust his PPR value as a reliable depth option on fantasy rosters. He’s one of our top 100 players in PPR leagues but he is being drafted outside the top 200 on Yahoo. Why? I don’t know. Riddick was the RB26 last season and a top-12 RB in 2016, in terms of PPR points per game.
RB Rex Burkhead, New England Patriots
Among starting RB options, Rex Burkhead provides the most value on Yahoo. His ADP around the 8-9 turn on this site is more than five rounds of value, considering we have him ranked in the top 40 overall as a solid RB2 in a potent offense. Cash in on the discount for Burkhead and build a strong corp of RBs.
WR Kenny Stills, Miami Dolphins
