Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 7 Fantasy Football Targets

Week 6 was a difficult week to find high-level streaming quarterbacks, in hindsight. Week 5 featured 10 quarterbacks score 18+ points, including two top-7 streaming options. However, Week 6 only had seven QBs score 18+ points, with QB12 only reaching 14.3 points.

All things considered, two of our streaming picks definitely kept you in the hunt in your match-ups last week. Trevor Siemian (15.9 points) was QB9, despite having to leave part of the game, and Jacoby Brissett (14 points) was QB14.

Nevertheless, the average points scored so far this season for our top streaming option still is an excellent 24.8 fantasy points per game. That’s better than DeShaun Watson, the current QB1, who is averaging 22 FP/G.

Week 7 should be a little easier to find streaming options, given the match-ups.

Our standard for this exercise will always be to select only quarterbacks owned in fewer than 40 percent of Yahoo! leagues. We will use that standard as not to be accused of stretching the definition of “streamer” (plus, we like a challenge). It will also allow for similar potential on other sites.

We’ll focus on factors such as QB points per game, the opponent’s schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks (aFPA), and the Vegas implied team totals.

Here are your QB streaming candidates for Week 7:

Jared Goff (LAR) vs. ARI

Goff has had a couple of single-digit fantasy weeks, but we can forgive those in games against Seattle and Jacksonville. This week, he gets the Cardinals at home, who are allowing 19.5 fantasy points per week to opposing quarterbacks (5th most). That includes a QB6 performance (20.6 points) from Tampa Bay back-up Ryan Fitzpatrick last week in Arizona. The Rams also have the 6th-highest implied team total this week at 25.5 points, and Arizona is just 25th in our aFPA vs. QB rankings. All signs point to at least a decent day from Goff in a game with the 3rd-highest over/under in Vegas this week.

Goff is owned in 39% of Yahoo! leagues.
