Streaming Tight Ends: Week 15 Fantasy Football Targets

If you’re reading this, there’s a solid chance your team is still alive, fighting for that elusive championship. It’s win-or-go-home time, so it is imperative to have the best possible roster at your disposal moving forward. Is the TE you drafted, starter-worthy this week or are you better off grabbing someone off the waiver wire to get the TE1 production your team needs to survive?

The main focus of our research when looking at a TE’s matchup is 4for4’s schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed (aFPA) metric. As the season continues to progress and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when coming up with weekly TE streamers.

Week 14 was a tale of one superstar and the rest no-shows. Trey Burton saved my bacon as TE1 with 24.1 PPR points, followed by no other streamer posting over 3.6 fantasy points. After 14 weeks of football, 4for4 streaming candidates are averaging 8.76 PPR fantasy points per game, which currently ranks as TE15. The optimal TE streamer has 231.2 PPR fantasy points, enough for TE1 on the season thus far. On to Week 14 and the players who’ll help you win that semi-final showdown.

In order to provide advice that you can actually implement, candidates for streaming must be available in at least 40% of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

Eric Ebron (DET) vs. CHI

Over the past three weeks, Ebron sits as TE7 in PPR points and TE4 in targets, averaging 10.9 points per contest, with a total of 19 targets. He posted season highs in both catches and yards in Week 14, hauling in 10 of 11 balls for 94 yards against the Buccaneers.

The Lions get a home tilt with the Bears this week, as they fight for a wild card spot coming out of the NFC North. The game’s over/under sits at 44 points, with an implied total of 25 for the home team. Ebron’s role in Detroit’s offense should allow for a decent fantasy output, and as an added bonus, his Week 16 contest is versus the Bengals, who are ranked dead last in TE aFPA. He’s free in 71 % of Yahoo leagues as we head into the fantasy semi-finals.
