Streaming Defenses: Week 14 Fantasy Football Targets
Generally, defenses have to be available on the waiver wire in at least 40% of Yahoo fantasy leagues to be eligible as a streaming option. This ensures we are talking about defenses that are readily available.
Last week, the Los Angeles Chargers and Chicago Bears were our top-scoring defenses with 11 fantasy points against the Browns and 49ers, respectively. They finished as the DST9 in most formats. In Week 13, our targets averaged 5 points and, overall, our streaming picks are averaging nearly 10 FP/game.
Continue to target a defense facing a below average or rookie QB or making a long road trip. Week 14 is here, and for a lot of you, fantasy playoffs are beginning. Here are the defenses we're targeting for the upcoming week.
Green Bay Packers @ CLE
Mike Daniels leads the d-line with 3.5 sacks and 8 QB hits. Daniels should draw the weaker side of Cleveland's offensive line, who has definitely missed Joe Thomas.
Clay Matthews lines up on Shon Coleman's side of the line. Coleman has struggled in pass protection, so there's definitely multi-sack upside for the defense with Matthews and Nick Perry. Blake Martinez has enjoyed a breakout season and can cause turnovers at the second level.
Morgan Burnett returned in Week 13 and has been one of their defensive captains this season.
The Packers should be able to control the game and Deshone Kizer has a tendency to throw INTs. The weakness of Cleveland's offensive line opens them up to consistent pressure, as well. The Packers are available in 68% of leagues and face a Browns offense that ranks 31st in schedule-adjusted fantasy pointas allowed (aFPA) to opposing defenses.
