Mike is an IDP veteran, writing about and ranking IDP for over seven seasons and playing in IDP leagues since 2007. He finished 6th in overall IDP rankings and 1st overall In LB rankings in 2014 at FantasyPros. When he's not poring over IDP depth charts, he can be found agonizing over his Cleveland sports teams.

It's crunch time. Either your fantasy playoffs begin this week or you're still fighting to get that last spot. Either way, I'm hoping you're all in contention for the 'ship. Unfortunately, another elite LB went down Monday in scary fashion. Ryan Shazier suffered a back injury that looked awful when it happened. He's still in the hospital; however, positive news is coming out. I'm not counting on him for this week, so you'll need some backup plans. As you prepare for the week, below are names to scour for on your wire, followed by a few of my favorite matchup plays.

Week 14 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups

Defensive Line

Muhammad Wilkerson, DE, New York Jets (36 snaps/78%)

Consider Wilkerson a waiver pickup this week because of a nice matchup against Denver. He's recorded 10 tackles and a half-sack over the last two games. He's also scored at least seven or more fantasy points in those two games. The Broncos have been friendly to opposing defensive ends, allowing the second-most points to the position.

Dalvin Tomlinson, DT, New York Giants (36 snaps/55%)

Tomlinson has been a solid play in DT-required leagues and has notched 19 tackles and a sack since the bye—resulting in seven or more fantasy points in four of his last five games. Playing alongside Damon Harrison opens up tackle opportunities. He faces two top-15 teams in points allowed to opposing DTs in his next two games (Dallas and Philadelphia).

Will Clarke, DE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (34 snaps/62%)

Clarke has appeared in at least 47% of Tampa's snaps over the last two weeks, seeing increased usage thanks to injuries. He's coming off a 2-sack game against Green Bay. Over the last two games, he's generating a near 11% pressure rate. If injuries continue to ravage Tampa's line, he's worth a look, especially against a Lions team allowing the third-most points to opposing defensive ends.
