Week 3 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Wednesday

Bears QB Jay Cutler (right thumb) did not practice Wednesday. Cutler is expected to miss 2-3 weeks. Brian Hoyer will start. He’s not much of a downgrade from Cutler at this point, so the Bears’ skill position players shouldn’t lose much value with Hoyer under center.

Bengals QB Andy Dalton (hip) practiced fully Wednesday. Dalton should be fine for Sunday.

Patriots QB Jimmy Garoppolo (right shoulder, doubtful) took limited practice reps Wednesday. Garoppolo isn’t likely to play on Thursday.

Bills QB Cardale Jones (right shoulder) took limited practice reps Wednesday.

Colts QB Andrew Luck (right shoulder) did not practice Wednesday. The Colts are just giving their franchise QB some rest.

Browns QB Josh McCown (left shoulder) did not practice Wednesday. McCown is expected to miss multiple games. Cody Kessler will start in the meantime.

Texans QB Brock Osweiler (back) practiced fully Wednesday. No worries here. Osweiler will be out there against the Patriots.

Jets QB Bryce Petty (right shoulder) did not practice Wednesday.

Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) did not practice Wednesday. Dak Prescott will continue to start while Romo is sidelined.

Broncos RB C.J. Anderson (ribs) practiced fully Wednesday. This is the first we’ve heard of a rib injury, though the full practice indicates that CJA is good to go.
