FanDuel Week 2 Cash Game Breakdown

Due to low-cost options expected to see adequate volume at a number of positions, you have a lot of flexibility in how you create cash game lineups this week. I didn't blurb him, but can't argue going with Chris Johnson ($5,700), who gives you a lot of flexibility to pay up for Antonio Brown ($9,200) or Rob Gronkowski ($8,300). Also, Pierre Garcon ($5,400) is $900 less than Terrance Williams and $1,300 less than Steve L Smith and should see comparable volume, albeit in a tougher matchup. As of now, I'm looking for my salary relief at TE in Jordan Reed $5,000. I love me some Gronk in DFS, but in his career he averages 18.1 FanDuel points against bottom-16 pass defenses. Against top-16 pass defenses, that number drops to a modest 11.6. The Bills are a top-16 defense, coming off a game where they held Andrew Luck to 53 percent completions and 5.0 yards per attempt. I could still return to Gronk before kickoff on Sunday. because even a "bad" Gronk game has a high floor, but as of right now I'm off him. I'll post an update if things change.

Update: Reed popped up on Thursday's injury report with a quad issue, getting in a limited practice. I liked a healthy Reed as a bargain based on target volume despite facing the Rams' stout defense, but at less than 100 percent, Reed's appeal is diminished and I'll likely be looking elsewhere, namely Jason Witten and Martellus Bennett.

QB Drew Brees $8,900 vs. TB

Brees is a good bet to continue the dismantling of Lovie Smith's cover 2 scheme as a 10-point home favorite against the Bucs (Brees historically fares better at home and as a favorite). Only two defenses allowed more 20-plus yard passing plays in Week 1 than the Bucs, and that was to a rookie QB making his first start. Did I mention the Bucs defense allowed 13.0 yards per attempt and TDs on 25 percent of the opposition's pass attempts?

QB Carson Palmer $7,800 @ CHI

Palmer has a nice matchup against a Bears defense that Aaron Rodgers completed 78 percent of his passes and threw three TDs against. The Bears defense finished as a bottom-3 unit in completion percentage and yards per attempt allowed last season as well. Palmer is highly consistent -- under Bruce Arians, he's thrown for multiple TDs in 66 percent of his starts and thrown for over 200 yards in 85 percent of his starts.

QB Sam Bradford $7,500 vs. DAL

Bradford posted the third-highest passing yardage total of his career in his first game as an Eagle and has a high yardage floor in Chip Kelly's efficient, quick-hitting offense. Vegas has set the Eagles total at 29, and under Kelly, 62 percent of the Eagles' TDs have come via the pass, meaning Bradford has good TD potential as well. The Cowboys defense did a good job on Odell Beckham after rattling him with a big hit early on last week, but their conservative style plays into the Eagles hands, and being without CB Orlando Scandrick and now DE Randy Gregory will catch up to them sooner than later.
