Week 5 Essential NFL Practice News & Notes for Friday

Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 5. Kirk Cousins gets another start after a nightmarish performance against the Giants in Week 4. Unfortunately, he has to face the Seahawks as they come off of their bye.

Rams QB Shaun Hill (thigh, probable) took full practice reps all week and is probable for Week 5. Austin Davis is the Rams’ starter going forward.

Titans QB Jake Locker (right wrist, probable) took full practice reps all week and is probable for Week 5. Locker is expected to start against the Browns. He’s not an appealing fantasy start, but his presence probably helps the Titans’ passing game.

Buccaneers QB Josh McCown (right thumb, questionable) missed practice all week and is questionable for Week 5. McCown is trying to avoid surgery, but it doesn’t look like the Bucs will rush him back in Week 5. Mike Glennon pulled out a nice comeback win in Pittsburgh last week.

Cardinals QB Carson Palmer (right shoulder, out) missed practice all week and is out for Week 5. Drew Stanton will get another start, which is a downgrade for the entire passing offense save for rookie John Brown, who caught two TDs in Week 3. Stanton looked comfortable against the 49ers in Week 3, however.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related, probable) took full practice reps on Friday after being limited earlier in the week and is probable for Week 5. No worries here. Big Ben is a great start against the Jaguars.

Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back, probable) took full practice reps again Friday and is probable for Week 5. Romo is good to go for a mediocre matchup with the Texans.
