Perfect Draft Series: Drafting 2nd in a 10 Team PPR League

Obviously with a PPR league, the value of wide receivers and tight ends go up, but don't think for a minute running backs go down. The fact is running backs get re-shuffled. There are going to be really good running backs whose value drops because they don't play third downs or are not used in the passing game. But the value of the running back position in general should not be minimized.

In this perfect draft I will be using PC Drafter and selecting from the No. 2 position in this 10-team league. I can tell you right off the bat that I love the No. 2 position in all drafts. I have tried every position several times and No. 2 has been very kind to me when I use PC Drafter.

The league itself will have a starting QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, TE, K, Defense and a Flex. We are limiting the league rosters to a max of two quarterbacks, two defenses and two kickers. There is no limit on any other position.

Pick 1.2 Matt Forte

With the No. 2 pick overall, I pretty much watch Jamal Charles go off the board and then I find the next best player which in 2014 is another running back. PC Drafter has Matt Forte, LeSean McCoy and Adrian Peterson all recommended in that order. Forte would not be considered at the spot in a standard format. However, his 73 receptions last season is a game changer. Although McCoy and Peterson will get your more rushing yards, Forte is the overall package and great value in the PPR format. I go with PC Drafter's No. 1 recommendation.
