Sneaky Starts: Week 10

As injuries and bye weeks pile up, all but the luckiest fantasy owners will at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough -- a waiver wire or bench player who is capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.

Week 9's Sneaky Starts included Carson Palmer (QB1), Russell Wilson (QB7), Ryan Tannehill (QB14), John Skelton (QB15), Isaac Redman (RB4), LaRod Stephens-Howling (RB16), Pierre Thomas (RB32), Mark Ingram (RB33), Daniel Thomas (RB35), Andre Roberts (WR30), Darrius Heyward-Bey (WR37), Davone Bess (WR39), Dwayne Allen (TE9) and Logan Paulsen (TE11).

Now that we have at least four weeks of data, we're able to use Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) by position. For more detail, click here.

Note: These recommendations do not override our weekly rankings, which are updated throughout the week and weekend.

Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (@ NE)
Fitzy has been a hot mess against the Patriots of late, averaging 342 yards, 2.7 TDs and 3.3 INTs in his last three games versus New England. It looks like Stevie Johnson will play, so Fitzpatrick will have a full complement of weapons at his disposal as he inevitably tries to come back from a deficit.

Titans QB Jake Locker (@ MIA)
In the three games before his injury, Locker averaged 260 yards and 1.3 TDs, while rushing for another 22 yards per game. The Dolphins are #24 in QB aFPA.

Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill (vs. TEN)
Tannehill has been pretty solid this season. Last week he threw for 209 yards and a touchdown against the Colts, and this week he has a nice home matchup against the Titans, who are #29 in QB aFPA.

Steelers RBs Isaac Redman & Jonathan Dwyer (vs. KC)
The feeling is that Redman will get the start after playing well in Week 9, but Dwyer will be involved so both players should be decent RB3/flex starts as the Steeler running game hits its stride.
