Fantasy Football Sneaky Starts: Week 10

Robinson

As injuries pile up and the bye weeks continue, all but the luckiest fantasy owners will at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough -- a waiver wire or bench player who is capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.

QUARTERBACKS

Matt Cassel, Chiefs (vs. DEN)
We're a little leery of recommending Cassel after his recent play (one TD, four INT in his last three games), but no team has been more generous to opposing QBs than the Broncos, so this is purely a matchup play. Cassel has a number of weapons at his disposal in the passing game, so he should find the endzone once or twice against a shaky Denver secondary.
Christian Ponder, Vikings (@ GB)
In his two starts, Ponder has thrown for 455 yards and three TDs, including a solid 219-yard, two-TD fantasy line against the Packers three weeks ago. Green Bay has struggled against the pass all season, and the Vikings figure to trail for most of the game, so Ponder should have a chance to post some solid numbers in garbage time.
