Kansas City Chiefs

Odds: +350 at Caesars

I generally don’t like betting the chalk in a market with more than 10 options, but when it comes down to it, the Chiefs will make the playoffs and almost certainly have shorter odds than this at that point. The Kansas City Chiefs are currently the favorites to win the AFC, with odds of +350 at DraftKings Sportsbook. They are coming off a Super Bowl victory and have a lot of returning talent, including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

In 2022, the Chiefs finished with a record of 14-3 and won the AFC West. Mahomes was named the NFL MVP after throwing for 5,250 yards and 41 touchdowns. They have a young defense that needs to improve, but it is a work in progress. Overall, the Chiefs are still the favorites to win the AFC in 2023. They have a lot of talent on offense, and Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. However, they will need to address their weaknesses on defense if they want to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

Buffalo Bills

Odds: +500 at Caesars

The Buffalo Bills are currently the second favorites to win the AFC, with odds of +500 at Caesars Sportsbook. They have a high-powered offense led by Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, and they also have a strong defense that was ranked second in the NFL in points allowed in 2022.

In 2022, the Bills finished with a record of 13-3 and won the AFC East. Overall, the Bills are still a very good team, and they have a chance to win the AFC in 2023. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, and they will be looking to improve on their success from last season.

Cincinnati Bengals

Odds: +550 at DraftKings

The Cincinnati Bengals are currently the +550 third favorites to win the AFC, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. The Bengals have a lot of young talent on both sides of the ball, led by quarterback Joe Burrow, wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, and defensive end Trey Hendrickson. They also have a good head coach in Zac Taylor.

In 2022, the Bengals finished with a record of 12-4 and won the AFC North. The Bengals have a few weaknesses, however. Their offensive line is not as good as it could be, and they could be vulnerable to pressure from opposing pass rushers. They also have a young defense that needs to improve.

Overall, the Bengals are a good team with a lot of potential. They have a young quarterback who is playing at a high level, and they have a lot of other talented players on both sides of the ball. If they can stay healthy and improve their defense, they could be a Super Bowl contender in 2023.

New York Jets

Odds: +1100 at DraftKings

The Jets have made some significant moves this offseason, including trading for quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and he gives the Jets a chance to win every week. Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner are both young talented players who should help improve the Jets' offense and defense, respectively. They also added Will Mcdonald in the draft with the 15th overall pick.

The Jets have a good head coach in Robert Saleh. He has a lot of experience in the NFL, and he has a proven track record of developing young players. Overall, the Jets are a team with a lot of potential. They have a good quarterback, a good head coach, and a lot of talented young players. If they can stay healthy and improve their defense, they could be a playoff team in 2023.

Baltimore Ravens

Odds: +1100 at Caesars

With Lamar Jackson back, the Ravens may be one of the most underrated teams in the league. In five seasons in the NFL, Lamar Jackson has a 46-19 record as a starter and an MVP campaign under his belt. In the two seasons he played 15 games, they won 13 and 11 games. The Ravens added Odell Beckham Jr., Zay Flowers, and Nelson Agholor to a passing game that already had Rashod Bateman and Mark Andrews. They replaced their offensive coordinator with former Georgia OC Todd Monken, who could bring more life to the offense. Their defense remains a bit of a question at some spots, but at 25/1, there could be plenty of value as this offense could easily carry the Ravens to a deep playoff run.

Miami Dolphins

Odds: +1400 at BetMGM

The Miami Dolphins are coming off a season in which they finished with a record of 9-8 and made the playoffs as a wild card. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, and Tyreek Hill. They also have a good head coach in Mike McDaniel.

Tagovailoa played well for most of the season but struggled with concussions. Overall, the Dolphins are a good team with a lot of potential. They have a lot of talented players on both sides of the ball who will make an impact. If they can stay healthy and improve their offensive line, they could be a Super Bowl contender in 2023.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Odds: +1600 at BetMGM

The Jaguars are running back most of last year’s team with the addition of Calvin Ridley, who the Jaguars bought low on after Ridley faced a year-long suspension for gambling. If you are reading this article, Calvin, step away from the computer. He is a massive on-field addition for this offense, providing Trevor Lawrence with the first true difference-makers.

Cleveland Browns

Odds: +2000 at Caesars

The Cleveland Browns are coming off a season in which they finished with a record of 7-10 and missed the playoffs. They have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, led by quarterback Deshaun Watson, wide receiver Amari Cooper, and defensive end Myles Garrett. They also have a good head coach in Kevin Stefanski.

In 2022, the Browns finished with a record of 7-10 and missed the playoffs. Watson played in only six games due to a suspension, and the Browns had a lot of injuries. However, they have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, and they should be a better team in 2023.

Denver Broncos

Odds: +3000 at BetMGM

They are coming off a season in which they finished with a record of 5-12 and missed the playoffs. The Broncos have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, led by quarterback Russell Wilson, wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, and cornerback Patrick Surtain. They also acquired Sean Payton, former Saints head coach, to replace Nathaniel Hackett.

In 2022, the Broncos finished with a record of 5-12 and missed the playoffs. Wilson was injured for most of the season, and the Broncos had a lot of injuries on defense. However, they have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, and they should be a better team in 2023.

Las Vegas Raiders

Odds: +6500 at DraftKings

The 2023 Las Vegas Raiders face an uphill battle to win the AFC this season. While they have shown flashes of potential, their overall statistical performance leaves room for improvement. Offensively, their yards per game and points scored rank below the league average; the addition of Jimmy Garoppolo might help them in that regard.

Defensively, the Raiders have struggled to stop opponents, allowing a high number of points per game. Given their current stats and inconsistent performances, betting on the Raiders to win the AFC would carry significant risk.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Odds: +3000 at DraftKings

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a season in which they finished with a record of 9-8 and missed the playoffs. The Steelers have a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, led by quarterback Kenny Pickett, wide receiver Diontae Johnson, and defensive end TJ Watt. They also have a good head coach in Mike Tomlin.

Pickett had a solid rookie season. However, they struggled on defense and lost several close games. Their offensive line is not very good, and struggled to help the running game get going. Their secondary is also suspect. Overall, the Steelers are a good team with a lot of potential. They have a good quarterback, a good head coach, and a lot of talented players on both sides of the ball. If they can stay healthy and improve their offensive line, they could be a playoff team in 2023.

New England Patriots

Odds: +5000 at DraftKings

The New England Patriots are currently the +4000 to win the AFC They are coming off a season in which they finished with a record of 8-9 and struggled offensively.

The Patriots have a decent amount of talent defensively but have marginal talent offensively with a middling offensive line, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Devante Parker and Kendrick Bourne at wideout. With the toughest schedule in the league, the Patriots will need to be at their absolute best to avoid a bad season.

Tennessee Titans

Odds: +6000 at Caesars

The Titans are in a tough spot this year with a weak offensive line and Derrick Henry and Ryan Tannehill both aging. As underdogs in six straight games before their bye, the Titans are more likely to have the wheels fall off than win the AFC.

Indianapolis Colts

Odds: +80000 at Caesars

The Colts will likely be starting project QB Anthony Richardson for most of the season, meaning they won’t be in contention with an otherwise middling roster.

Houston Texans

Odds: +10000 at Caesars

The Texans' outlook will solely depend on C.J. Stroud’s performance this year. They could push for close to 0.500 if he plays well. If he doesn’t, the Texans will be a bottom-feeder again.
