FANTASY UPSIDE
Despite being labeled too small to carry the load, Henry has proven he has the ability to be a featured back as he was in Buffalo in 2002 and 2003 when he ran for 2,794 yards and 23 touchdowns in those two years. He can not only get to the corner and turn up field, but he’s also effective running between the tackles. Henry has also shown he can be dangerous catching passes out of the backfield. Though his potential could be very limited in Tennessee since the Titans drafted LenDale White, trade rumors have begun to surface and Henry could end up in a much better situation.

FANTASY DOWNSIDE
Besides currently being stuck behind Chris Brown and possibly White on the depth chart, Henry has injury concerns as well. He hasn’t played in more than 10 games since 2003 and that could help explain why the Titans felt the need to draft White. While there has been some talk of a possible trade, the Titans also know that Brown is just as a much of an injury risk and White is totally unproven. Don’t expect Tennessee to just deal Henry for anything.

MY BOTTOM LINE
If the Titans don’t find a deal worth trading Henry for, they won’t have a problem keeping him as his salary is pretty cap friendly. If that happens, this situation has “running back by committee” written all over it and that’s never good news. On the other hand, if Henry does get traded to a team where he can compete for playing time, he could become viable fantasy option at least worthy of a late-round pick. Expect Henry to get a good amount of playing time in the preseason. If he performs well, I expect someone to make a deal with the Titans.

FANTASY UPSIDE
Henry is a proven producer at running back who can step in and put up good numbers when given the opportunity.

FANTASY DOWNSIDE
He hasn’t gotten many of those opportunities in the past two seasons, one with Buffalo, the other with Tennessee.

MY BOTTOM LINE
It’s hard to believe Henry put together back-to-back seasons over 1,300 yards just a few years ago and now can’t win a starting job. But that’s where he is now - stuck in a depth chart battle with a team that has Chris Brown and drafted LenDale White this year in the second round. That doesn’t leave a lot of carries to go around for any of them. Add to that Henry’s extensive injury history and things don’t look real promising for him unless he’s traded before the start of the season – something that is possible. Despite gaining just 326 and 335 yards, respectively, in the past two seasons, he has 4,184 yards in his five NFL seasons. One has to figure there would be a market out there if the Titans wanted to unload him. And given the running back situation some teams find themselves in, he would certainly draw interest. But unless that happens, lay off of Henry come draft time. Running backs who have to share carries on bad teams aren’t all that valuable.
