FANTASY UPSIDE
Chambers has the size and speed to give any defense nightmares and he did pretty much just that in 2005. Chambers finished last year with 1,118 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. And that was with Gus Frerotte, Sage Rosenfels and A.J. Feely at quarterback. The Dolphins signed Daunte Culpepper in the offseason and if he can bounce back from the last year’s injury Chambers could easily have his best year ever. The loss of Ricky Williams will also place a greater emphasis on the passing game, but defenses will still have to worry about Ronnie Brown. Marty Booker and Randy McMichael will also help keep opponents from concentrating only on Chambers.
FANTASY DOWNSIDE
Chambers’ potential in 2006 will obviously be greatly affected by the guy taking the snaps in Miami. Culpepper could have a tough time being ready for the start of the regular season considering the severity of his injury. Even if Culpepper is able to play from day one, he’ll need to play much better than he did he did through the first six games of last year when he threw 12 interceptions compared to 6 touchdowns. Backing up Culpepper is Joey Harrington and it remains to be seen if he can play with any kind of consistency.
MY BOTTOM LINE
If you want Chambers, you’re going to have to get him early. He’s being drafted around the 29th overall pick right now. That puts him at about the ninth receiver off the board. I wouldn’t have any problem taking him right there. The potential of him and Culpepper hooking up for an entire season is just too enticing to pass up. You can also take comfort in the fact that Chambers put up pro bowl numbers last year and the Dolphins’ quarterback situation was a mess.

FANTASY UPSIDE
Coming off his best NFL season, Chambers seems poised to join the upper tier of fantasy wideouts with Miami’s addition of Daunte Culpepper. Chambers caught 82 passes for 1,118 yards and 11 touchdowns last season with Gus Frerotte(!) throwing him the ball last season. He should match or better those numbers this season.
FANTASY DOWNSIDE
There doesn’t appear to be a lot of downside for Chambers this year unless Culpepper’s 2005 season wasn’t an aberration.
MY BOTTOM LINE
As mentioned, Chambers seems poised for a big season. Culpepper is easily the best quarterback he’ll have played with in his five-year career and he’s still averaged just over 60 catchers per season despite that. Chambers has also averaged nearly eight touchdowns per season thus far in his career, reaching double digits twice. He should catch 80-plus passes this season and again approach or eclipse 10 touchdown catches. Other fantasy owners may overlook Chambers coming into this season because he’s only put up big numbers once in his career. But don’t be misled; he’s a No. 1 fantasy receiver, ranking up there with the likes of Torry Holt and Anquan Boldin. He’s ranked No. 7 among wideouts by 4for4.com and that ranking is justified. Don’t let him slip past you if he’s still available in the third round of your draft and you’re ready to get some talent at WR.
