FANTASY UPSIDE
Bennett had some injury troubles last year, but still managed to put up some ok numbers after a breakout season in 2004 in which he had 1,247 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. He’s a big, reliable target and he’s done well with Billy Volek starting at quarterback for the Titans. Volek will enter this season as the starter and Bennett will again be his go-to guy. The acquisition of David Givens in the offseason should give Bennett more room to operate and create more opportunities for the 6' 5" receiver, especially in the red zone.
FANTASY DOWNSIDE
Last year was Bennett’s chance to step up and prove he could handle being the number one guy and he didn’t get it done. His breakout year came when he was running routes opposite Derrick Mason and Bennett appears to be more of a number two receiver. Having Givens on the other side should help, but Givens can hardly be considered a number one guy himself. This team has a couple of very good pass-catching tight ends and Volek will most likely be looking to spread the ball around.
MY BOTTOM LINE
I think Bennett will be a decent number three or four fantasy receiver this season. His ADP is currently 99 and, depending on your league, I think that’s a fair spot for him. I could take him a little bit earlier, but not a whole lot. This should be a pretty balanced offense with some solid fantasy players, but no real stars.

FANTASY UPSIDE
Bennett is the No. 1 receiver in Tennessee, which will be playing from behind quite a bit again this season.
FANTASY DOWNSIDE
He was in the same situation last season and fell flat on his face as the team threw more passes to its tight ends to compensate for the fact that Bennett was unable to consistently get open against double coverage.
MY BOTTOM LINE
Bennett was one of the most disappointing players in fantasy football last season. Coming off his huge 2004 season, the former UCLA QB seemed poised for another strong 2005 campaign. But he took a big step back last season. Part of that was due to injuries. But part of it was because he wasn’t able to handle the load all by himself as well. Tennessee added speedy David Givens to work opposite Bennett and that should take some of the pressure off of him. As long as Billy Volek is Tennessee’s starting quarterback, Bennett should hold some value. But there’s the rub. How long will Jeff Fisher stick with Volek with Vince Young waiting in the wings if the team gets out of the gate at 2-6? Don’t forget about Bennett on draft day. He’d make a nice No. 3 or 4 fantasy receiver. But don’t expect another 80-catch, 11-touchdown season out of him, either. As long as you keep those expectations in check, you won’t be disappointed with Bennett again this season.
