According to CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora, Martin is opening eyes in his second season out of Michigan State, and not just in the return game. La Canfora expects him to be a bigger part of the offense as well, working both on the inside and the outside. "In my opinion he's made the best jump from Year 1 to Year 2 that I've ever seen in my 10 years in the league," QB Matt Schaub said when asked about Martin.
Recent history suggests that Texans receivers not named Andre Johnson don't fare especially well in this offense. The Texans put up solid passing totals, but Johnson, the tight ends and the running backs have benefited the most from it.
While Martin has been impressive, Lestar Jean appears to be a legitimate playmaker and DeVier Posey, who is surprisingly already back from a torn Achilles tendon, will figure into the mix behind Johnson and rookie DeAndre Hopkins. The above-mentioned history and talent above them make all three dicey fantasy prospects. Most likely you'll want to watch and see if any emerge as viable waiver-wire pickups.
