2011 Pre-Game Scouting

Week 17: Walter vs. Titans
The Texans are locked in at the No. 3 seed so they have nothing to play for on Sunday. The passing game has been limited even when they have been playing for something. Walter has very little fantasy value for Week 17 so keep him on the bench.

Week 16: Walter vs. Colts
Kevin Walter only had two catches last week in the Texans loss and even though he is considered their No. 1 receiver with Andre Johnson out, Walter is not much of a threat from a fantasy standpoint.

Even against a below-average Colts pass defense, Walter should not be in anyone's lineup for Week 16.

Week 15: Walter vs. Panthers
Kevin Walter had the game-winning touchdown and his best game since Week 8. However, it was only his 3rd TD of the season and he has had only four games with at least five catches and a lot of those games were with Andre Johnson out of the lineup.

Walter has been too inconsistent this season to depend on for a roster spot, let alone a starting spot. Keep him on the waiver wire.

Week 12: Walter vs. Browns
Kevin Walter has only two catches in the past two weeks and Andre Johnson is back in the lineup. Keep Walter on the bench.

Week 10: Walter vs. Buccaneers
Kevin Walter had 14 catches in his prevous three games before last week and then came up with a dud last week (1 reception). Andre Johnson could be coming back which means Walter's targets will go down. Either way, he is not a good option for Week 10.

Week 9: Walter vs. Browns
Kevin Walter had a decent game last week against Jacksonville, but still has not put up enough numbers in the absence of Andre Johnson to become an impact fantasy WR. He is also nursing a sore knee so that might be a factor. We recommend to keep him on the bench for Week 9.

Week 7: Walter vs Titans
Kevin Walter has had 11 catches the past two games with Andre Johnson out, but that might be his ceiling as QB Matt Schaub has spread the ball around.

Walter did reach the end zone two weeks ago and that's where his value could be. If you are stuck this week because of the byes, Walter might be able to fill in as a fantasy No. 3 wide receiver, but don't expect too much.

Week 1 - Walter vs. Colts
Kevin Walter has been known to have a breakout game here or there. But he is not going to get much action in this offense with all the weapons. He should be a free agent for Week 1 and see what he does against Indy.
