Fantasy Upside
He's Peyton Manning and plays in an offense of his choosing, calling all the plays. That adds up to fantasy gold pretty much every season.
Fantasy Downside
Now in his mid-30s, Manning is starting to show signs of wear and team from 13 NFL seasons. His recovery from neck surgery has been slow, keeping him out of the preseason. He's also coming off a mixed bag of a season.
Bottom Line
Are you going to count against Manning keeping his consecutive games played string going? Yes, the Colts went out and signed Kerry Collins, but Manning has never missed a game in his NFL career. And if anyone could skip a preseason and still play, it's Manning. As you can see, we've bumped him down in the rankings, but even if he misses, say, a week or two, you'll be getting a steal with Manning in the middle rounds. Don't let him slip too far. Just make sure you take another solid QB to cover your behind. At worse, you'll have solid trade bait down the road.
