Kenny Britt not yet making any cuts
April 27, 2012, 6:31pm
The Tennessean - [Full Article]
Titans WR Kenny Britt has resumed running, but is not yet allowed to do any cutting. The Titans will likely ease Britt through training camp, as they did last year when he was dealing with hamstring issues. The Titans are assuming Britt will be ready for the regular season.
The slow-and-steady approach worked last year with Britt, as he didn’t catch a single pass in the preseason (he only played in one game), but got out of the gate quickly during the regular season with 14 catches for 271 yards and three touchdowns in two games.

Week 16 - Hawkins vs. Jacksonville
Hawkins had eight catches for 88 yards and also had ten targets. The Titan receivers have been up and down all year so there's probably not a lot of reason to get too excited about this because the Titans were playing from behind vs. the Colts. Washington and Williams are still the top WR options. The matchup is much tougher this week and Hawkins should really be left out of lineups.

Week 15 - Hawkins vs. Indy
Hawkins had three catches for 49 yards last week. This week he gets Indy in a nice matchup, but the Titans could try to feature Chris Johnson, esp. if Jake Locker ends up making the start. We'll have to Hawkins is more of a third option and isn't safe for your lineup.

Week 14 - Hawkins vs. New Orleans
Hawkins had just two catches last week for nine yards. He's got a good matchup this week against the Saints who rank 30th against the pass. The Titans are going to have to throw in this one most likely, but that still doesn't make Hawkins a good play.

Week 12 - Hawkins vs. Tampa Bay
Hawkins had just one catch for 12 yards. It's back-to-back week with one-catch efforts after getting five for 63 yards and a TD in week 9.
Obviously, Hawkins isn't a great play week-to-week. He gets a nice matchup this week against the Bucs, but you risk 0 or 1 point if you're thinking of putting him in your lineup...

Week 11 - Hawkins vs. Atlanta
Hawkins had just one catch and one target last week, collecting just three yards. The week before, Hawkins had 60 yards and a TD. Obviously, he's a risky play until we see a lot more consistency. Damian Williams looks like he's the guy who has stepped in with Kenny Britt out, but continue to watch Hawkins.

Week 10 - Hawkins vs. Carolina
Hawkins had five catches for 63 yards last week, season highs for both, and his first TD of the season. That's 11 catches the last three weeks with 19 targets.
The Tenn WR situation really seems up for grabs here and at the same time is unstable with no safe plays, outside of perhaps Nate Washington as a WR3.
In deeper leagues, a guy like Hawkins is worth picking up in hopes he shows some consistency. The targets are starting to come, we just need to see a little more production.

Week 9 - Hawkins vs. Cincy
Hawkins had just 18 yards last week on three catches and five targets. He doesn't get a great ranking this week and is a risky play going against the ninth best passing defense in the league. Of course, Hawkins is someone to watch, but seems to be behind Washington and Williams and probably even Cook as far as Hasselbeck's weapons go.

Week 8 - Hawkins vs. Indy
Hawkins had three catches for 20-plus yards and did have seven targets. It wasn't a great day for the entire Titan offense.
Hawkins' seven targets is a little encouraging, as the Titans still haven't really established a receiver outside of Nate Washington since they lost Britt for the year.
Hawkins gets a good matchup this week, as the Colts have allowed 265 yards a game through the air, and a league-hit 14 TDs passing. Still, Hawkins is a risky play until we see more consistency.

Hawkins vs. Pittsburgh
Hawkins had two catches for 38 yards last week. This week, the Titans take on the best passing defense in the league, based on yards anyway. Hawkins just isn't a safe play, especially this week.

Week 4 - Hawkins vs. Cleveland
Hawkins caught two balls last week for 16 yards and has five catches on the year.
Someone will need to step in now that Kenny Britt is gone for the year. Hawkins could get his chance along with Williams, but just how effective either of them will be in their new role is a big question right now. Continue to monitor the situation...
