CSN Bay Area - [Full Article]

WR Randy Moss, 35, ran smooth patterns with ease and snatched passes out of the air, as the 49ers ran plays uncovered. During this phase of the NFL offseason program, teams are prohibited from practicing offense vs. defense. Moss reported to the 49ers' offseason program on April 30.

Safety Donte Whitner said he has been working out in the mornings with Moss, Frank Gore and Michael Crabtree. Whitner said he believes Moss has not lost any speed.

"A lot of times we're running with chains on our backs, we're running 60-yard sprints," Whitner said. "So you can see that he can really run. A lot of times he's leading in the sprints. So if I had to say anything, I don't think he lost a step at all."

Frank Gore, NFC Championship
Gore managed just six carries for no yards in the first meeting with the Giants. But he was banged up at that point. He's as healthy as he's been all season now and a healthy Gore is going to get his yards against anyone. The Giants finished 19th in the league in rushing yardage allowed and Gore should have some success. He's a nice, solid play.

Frank Gore, Playoff Week 2
This would be a good week to get Gore back involved in the passing game in a big way. The Saints allowed 84 receptions for 689 yards and four touchdowns to opposing running backs. New Orleans' run defense often goes untested because opponents have to keep up. But the Saints did allow nine rushing touchdowns. The 49ers will try to control the pace with Gore, which means plenty of carries for Gore.

Frank Gore, Week 17
The 49ers need a victory over the Rams to clinch the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs and you can bet that Gore will be a big part of that against the last-ranked run defense in the league. The only issue would be the 49ers building a big lead and getting Gore out of the game early. That's a chance you have to be willing to take. Gore could put up 100 yards and a score in limited action.

Frank Gore, Week 16
Gore remains banged up, but he continues to play. Seattle held him to 59 yards on 22 carries in Week 1. I don't expect him to get 22 carries again this time around as the 49ers seem to be limiting him to around 15. Gore has scored in back-to-back weeks, so there's some hope there. But don't set your expectations too high.

Frank Gore, Week 15
Gore has been playing through a myriad of injuries - as head coach Jim Harbaugh finally admitted this week. The 49ers seem intent on keeping Gore healthy for a playoff run, which could limit his touches down the stretch. That said, they don't figure on being able to build lead big enough to sit him down against the Steelers. The Steelers' run defense has been better in recent weeks than it was earlier in the season. Gore will get some yards, but a big game is likely a pipe dream. Use him as a No. 2 back.

Frank Gore, Week 14
The Cardinals have been decent against the run this season, but perhaps that has been because they've been so susceptible to being beaten through the air. Gore had 88 yards rushing on 24 carries in the first meeting, but he hasn't scored in six games. That means he's probably due.

Frank Gore, Week 13
Gore had a tough go of it against Baltimore, but gets a soft St. Louis defense this week. The issue may be that the 49ers will get ahead early and Gore will give way to Kendall Hunter. You've got to hope Gore goes out and gets his 100 yards and a touchdown before that happens. There's a good chance it does.

Frank Gore, Week 12
So much for the knee injury slowing Gore down. His 24 rushing attempts last week were his second-best total of the season. Yes, he's coming off a short week, but he'll have some extra rest on the backside. And if Ray Lewis doesn't play, the running gets a little easier. The Ravens have also allowed just over 100 yards rushing per game and five rushing TDs over the past four weeks. Feel free to let Gore roll.

Frank Gore, Week 11
Gore had just six carries for 0 yards last week, playing sparingly with a bruised knee. He sat out practice Wednesday, but returned Thursday and promised a big game this week. The Cardinals can be run upon, but last week's effort has to scare Gore owners at least a little, especially given his injury history. Hope for the best this week against a defense that has allowed 12 rushing scores.

Frank Gore, Week 10
The Giants are giving up 4.6 yards per rushing attempt and have allowed nine rushing touchdowns. This game has a big effort from Gore written all over it. He should easily top 100 total yards in this one and score once or twice as well.

Frank Gore, Week 9
Gore isn't on the injury list, which is great news for his owners. He has a decent matchup against a struggling Washington squad, but the 49ers have struggled in the past coming to the east coast - just not this year. Gore should be his usual do-everything back again this week.

Frank Gore, Week 8
Gore should be rested coming off the bye and faces a Cleveland defense allowing 119 yards per game on the ground. Gore should be a very solid start this week both running with and catching the ball.

Frank Gore, Week 6
Gore is coming off a 125-yard effort last week and faces a Detroit defense that is allowing 4.8 yards per carry and 114.8 yards per game. Gore should be poised for a good game as the 49ers try to keep Detroit's offense off the field.

Frank Gore, Week 5
Gore is finally starting to get going, even though he continues to be struggling through an ankle injury. But when isn't Gore nursing some kind of injury? Keep riding him until he finally breaks down. He's got a nice matchup this week.

Frank Gore, Week 4
Gore has been limited by an ankle injury this week and could wind up being a game-time decision. That's nothing new for Gore owners. Even when he has played, he's gotten the carries, but not the production. You might be better off if he sits this week and gets healthy. He's averaging just 2.5 yards per carry and Kendall Hunter is starting to get more looks. But if Gore plays, he's got a good matchup against what has been a horrid Philadelphia run defense.

Frank Gore, Week 3
Gore is averaging just 2.5 yards per carry as the 49ers passing game isn't scaring anyone right now. He's still a big part of the passing game, but the 49ers need to find a way to get Gore untracked. He's going to get his 25 touches, so he should be good to go, but he needs better production.

Frank Gore, Week 2
Gore was quiet in Week 1, though he did get 25 touches. That's the good news. The bad news is that Dallas held the Jets to 45 yards on 16 carries last week. Gore could find tough sledding against the Cowboys, though he should catch enough passes to put up enough points to be a decent No. 2 back.

Frank Gore, Week 1
Gore got his new contract and will want to show he's worth it. You can also bet the 49ers are going to want to get the most out of their investment. Gore should be ready to roll against the Seahawks and will be primed for a big game.
