"He fits in wherever you may need him," Morris said. "He played in the slot in college before. He was featured as an outside receiver as a freshman. He did both as a sophomore. He has the ability to do all those things.

"When he's coming in here, you're talking about (filling) the void left by Antonio at the X position, so naturally he will probably start off there. We're excited to have him and get him the ball. We're excited to see what he can do with the ball, and here we go, a playmaker."

Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for wide receiver Terrell Owens Terrell Owens Fantasy News, said Monday that he's in "active discussions" with three NFL teams interested in signing the 14-year veteran.

Rosenhaus said he's attending the NFL Annual Meeting this week to meet with interested teams but that they have "asked me not to identify them, on or off the record."


Rosenhaus did say that the Cincinnati Bengals, who brought in Owens for a visit but signed Antonio Bryant Antonio Bryant Fantasy News, likely are no longer a destination for his client.

"I don't think that's a realistic possibility," Rosenhaus said, given the salary and starting status that he believes Owens commands.

Rosenhaus reiterated several times that Owens is still a "starter," that they would "be patient" and a deal might not come together until "right before training camp", which some might take as an indication of the level of interest in the free-agent receiver.

Rosenhaus also said that despite some reports that Owens wouldn't play for less than the $6.5 million he made with the Buffalo Bills last season, there "is no set number" that they are seeking or demanding in negotiations.

"We're very flexible," Rosenhaus said.

"I've got a feeling that Year 2 will be a lot less dramatic for me," Morris said at his news conference.

For Morris, the suspense ended when he was summoned to the Glazers' office later in the afternoon and learned he would return for the 2010 season.

"We are committed to the plan that we began 12 months ago with Coach Morris, and we look forward to building on the pieces that were put in place this season," vice president Joel Glazer said in a statement released Monday night.
