The Chicago Bears reacquired safety Chris Harris from the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday in exchange for linebacker Jamar Williams.
The Bears announced the deal just hours after Harris revealed it via Twitter. Harris started his NFL career in Chicago as a sixth-round draft pick in 2005, but he spent the last three seasons in Carolina after the Bears traded him there for a fifth-round selection.
"Breaking News -- I will be traded to Chicago Bears," Harris tweeted. "Carolina u have been great and deeply missed. I have a special place in my heart for you."

TE Alge Crumpler
's camp has informed the Tennessee Titans that they've come to an agreement with the New England Patriots, according to a source.
Crumpler likely comes to New England to primarily fill the in-line blocking role, with a receiving threat still needed at the position. That could be filled in the draft, or with a pass-catching threat like Chicago's Greg Olsen
via trade.

Longtime San Diego Chargers running back Ladainian Tomlinson
is expected to visit with the Vikings on Thursday, according to a person with knowledge of the situation, and if an agreement on playing time and money can be reached, he could be a Viking shortly thereafter.
Tomlinson, who will turn 31 on June 23, has been identified as the Vikings' top choice to take over the third-down role that Chester Taylor

Julius Peppers and the Chicago Bears finalized a six-year deal to bring the top free agent in 2010 to Chicago, and the defensive end feels he hit a home-run with his new deal.
According to sources, the contract totals $91.5 million and has $42 million in guarantees. Over the first three years of the contract, Peppers will make $40.5 million, but the number could be more if he makes the Pro Bowl, records a certain number of sacks or is Defensive Player of the Year.
Peppers and his representatives, according to a source, believe his contract compares favorably with the seven-year, $100 million contract Albert Haynesworth received last year from the Washington Redskins.

Julius Peppers is no longer a Carolina Panther.
The five-time Pro Bowl defensive end and top free agent prize agreed Friday to a six-year deal with the Chicago Bears, the biggest move on a day the team showed it's intent on contending again after missing the playoffs the past three seasons.
"I'm excited to be here and looking forward to doing big things," Peppers said during a news conference. "Being able to come to a place with a deep-rooted tradition in winning is a great thing for me. It's a wonderful thing. It's one thing to play football in this league and make a living. But it's a totally different thing to come to a place with a great tradition and rich football culture like the Bears."
Terms of Peppers' deal were not released, although NFL Network's Michael Lombardi, citing a source, reported the deal was for $79.8 million, with $40 million guaranteed in the first three seasons.

Although Devin Hester
was the Bears' No. 1 receiver in 2009, Mike Martz indicated that Hester could see a reduced role in the passing game in 2010. Martz said he could see using Hester as the slot receiver, the way the Rams used Az Hakim, and Martz also hinted that Hester could see an increased role in the return game.
"Devin Hester
in that role could just be stupid good, if that makes sense to you," Martz said. "It would be very difficult for him to play every snap on offense and still play effectively on special teams."

Tight end Greg Olsen
led the Bears with 60 catches and eight receiving touchdowns in 2009, but Mike Martz suggested that Olsen will need to focus primarily on blocking in 2010.
"All tight ends, their first responsibility, they have to put their hand down on the line of scrimmage and be a successful blocker, and then they move to receiving," Martz said. "To just skip by that and say, 'He's a terrific receiver,' well, then you might as well just put another wide receiver in there."
