MONDAY NOTES

POSSIBLE PICKUPS…

NOTE: for more options, each Tuesday, see our classic ReDrafter Cheat Sheet. It's perfect for evaluating free agents and thinking over trade offers as it offers you our rest of season rankings.

QB Kyle Orton
It’s a familiar script as we’ve had Orton in this space for weeks now. The Bears have confidence in him and they are opening up the playbook. With several viable weapons around him, Orton’s stock is on the rise. Over the last three games, Orton is averaging 36 Throws, 301 Pass Yards and 1.7 Pass TDs per game. Bottom line - Orton is on pace for 3,805 passing yards and 23 passing TDs.

QB Matt Ryan
Two weeks ago in this space, long before he was popular, we told you “By season’s end this prized rookie could be a top-10 Fantasy option.” He’s done little to change our minds and he’s now a trendy waiver wire pickup. At a minimum, Ryan is on pace for 3,285 passing yards and 16 passing TDs this year

QB Chad Pennington
We called him out as a Weekly Bargain last week and he was good for over 300 yards. The week before, against Baltimore, Pennington threw for 295 yards and a touchdown. If you need a backup QB, give Pennington a look. Over the last three weeks, he’s averaging 298 Passing Yards and 1.33 Pass TDs. In addition, his Yards per Pass Attempt is rocking and that’s the best measure of future success you can find via statistical data. In Week 10 he gets the Seahawks and the week after, the Raiders. Still not convinced – believe it or not, Pennington is on pace for 3,899 passing yards and 16 passing TDs.

QB Jason Campbell
He was dropped in many leagues. If you really need to reach, given a good matchup, Campbell is starting material. For the season, he’s on pace for 3,508 passing yards and 16 passing TDs.

QB David Garrard
Last week we called him out as a Weekly Bargain and he delivered 283-passing yards along with 2-TDs and 59-rushing yards! This is the stretch of games you've been waiting for with Garrard -- last week it was Cleveland, next up Cincinnati and Detroit.

RB Tim Hightower
The Cardinals will continue to go his way in the redzone. Plus, he has plenty of upside potential moving forward as Edge James continues to wear down.

RB Ray Rice
His stock is on the rise and he’s worth stashing if you have room. Despite his size, Rice is a powerful North-South runner who is very compact and can make people miss. Keep in mind if Rice came out of college in 2007, he would have ranked with the likes of Marshawn Lynch.

RB Leon Washington
The Jets all-purpose weapon is “one Thomas Jones injury” away from being a Top-15 Fantasy RB in New York’s system. In just six touches against KC last week, he gained 67 yards rushing, 34 yards receiving and made scored two TDs. Point blank, Washington is a playmaker and a dangerous receiver who knows how to slip out of the backfield.

RB Ryan Torain
Before his injury, our contacts in Denver game us plenty of buzz about this rookie. Now is the time to land him if you can.

RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis
If you have room and patience, he’s worth landing, even with Sammy Morris, LaMont Jordan and Kevin Faulk in the mix.

RB Antonio Pittman
Now that he’s healthy, Pittman is a must, especially if you have Steven Jackson on your roster.

WR Donnie Avery
Long before it was popular, 4for4.com was calling Avery out as a weekly bargain and wavier wire pickup. As we told you last week, “If he's still on your waiver wire, what are you waiting for?” Over the last three weeks, Avery is averaging 5.0 Receptions, 20.1 Yards/Rec, 100.7 Total Yards and 0.67 TDs per game. As we told you back in May, “Unquestionably, Avery is an explosive open-field runner… due to his speed, in time, Avery could become a good fit playing inside the Rams dome.” The time is now!

WR Kevin Curtis
Look for Curtis to emerge as the Eagles #1 receiver as opposing DCs must focus on DeSean Jackson and Brian Westbrook.

WR Greg Camarillo
As we have been saying for weeks, Camarillo remains a solid possession receiver.

WR Shaun McDonald
With Roy Williams gone, the Lions will need McDonald to fill the void. Against the Redskins he was good for 5 grabs and 68-yards.

TE Tony Scheffler
Some owners dropped him after he was injured. Now is the time to get him.

TE Bo Scaife
He’ll be hit-or-miss in the Titans conservative offense, but next to running the ball, the Titans love to keep their TE involved in the passing game. For his part, Scaife is on pace for 729 rec yards and 3 rec TDs.

TE Greg Olsen
We remain high on Olsen and the Bears continue to open up the offense. Despite a slow start, Olsen is on pace for 675 rec yards and 5 rec TDs.

TE Zach Miller
Miller remains the safest bet in the Oakland passing game. Over the last three weeks, Miller is averaging 17.7 Yards/Rec and 53.0 Yards per game. Miller is on pace for 830 rec yards and 3 rec TDs. By comparison, Kellen Winslow is on pace for 598 rec yards and 3 TDs.
