A Guidepost for Determining Fantasy Value in the Playoffs
The NFL Wild Card Matchups are all set for this coming weekend. To help get you ready, we intensely analyze outcomes data to arrive at an expected number of playoff games each team will play. Over the years, we have found this type of statistical approach outperforms "gut feel" and folks saying, "I have a hunch."
This method carefully considers team strength, home field advantage, team matchups and each team's official NFL playoff seeding. With that information in hand, a series of conditional probabilities were applied to generate predictive statistics.
Knowing how many games an NFL player will participate in is a key element in fantasy playoff contests including both draft & auction format.
NOTE: These are not power rankings. Teams with first round BYEs are at an inherent disadvantage with less possible games.
