GB WR Jeff Janis - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

2016 Fantasy Outlook
Despite the struggles in Green Bay's passing game last season, Janis saw just 11 targets, making two catches for 79 yards. But he did finally emerge in the team's 26-20 overtime loss to Arizona in the playoffs, catching seven passes for 145 yards and two scores on 11 targets. The 6'3", 219-pound Janis is a big-play threat and has a 23.8 yard/catch average on his four regular season catches. The Packers seem intent on giving Janis increased opportunities this season, and he'll get a chance to win the No. 3 job against disappointing Davante Adams. If he wins that spot, there would be some upside with Aaron Rodgers at QB, but he'd still be hit and miss on a weekly basis. Janis' ADP is 224th overall, so don't feel the need to jump too early.

GB WR Jeff Janis - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 at Chicago
The addition of veteran James Jones likely pushes Janis and his two career catches to the No. 4 receiver spot - at least for now. He might see some playing time in Week 1, but expect Jones to take over. Fantasy owners shouldn't expect more than a catch or two for Janis.

GB WR Jeff Janis - 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
With the injury to Jordy Nelson, it appears that Janis should step up into the No. 3 receiver spot behind Randall Cobb and Davante Adams.

Fantasy Downside
Serving as the third option in the Packers offense isn't bad, but Janis is largely untested. He's a roll of the dice towards the end of any fantasy draft.

Bottom Line
Janis will have some big games as the No. 3 receiver in Green Bay, but consistency could be an issue. He might not be an every-week starter, but he'll certainly be a valuable fill in. And if Cobb or Adams are injured, Janis is next in line to receive the ball from Aaron Rodgers.
