LA WR Brian Quick - Week 9, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 vs. Carolina
Brian Quick caught four-of-nine targets for 92 yards in the Rams' Week 7 loss to the Giants. He made a couple of big plays throughout the game, but his miscommunication with Case Keenum on the Rams' final drive led to the quarterback's fourth interception and sealed the team's fate. Quick has a great matchup against the Panthers and Carolina's No. 26-ranked defense versus fantasy receivers, but he ranks as our WR44 for Week 9. View him as a WR4/5 for Sunday.

LA WR Brian Quick - Week 5, 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5 vs. Buffalo
Brian Quick caught just two passes in the Rams' Week 4 win against the Cardinals, but he turned those two receptions into 69 yards and two touchdowns on six targets. Quick now has three touchdowns in his last two games but has caught just eight passes for 153 yards on the season. He's not seeing enough targets and isn't catching enough passes to be fantasy relevant. Ranked as our WR54 for Week 5, avoid Quick in the Rams' matchup with the Bills.

LA WR Brian Quick - 2016 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Two years ago Brian Quick was in the midst of a career year before a severe shoulder injury robbed him of the opportunity. In seven games in 2014, Quick caught 25 passes for 375 yards with three touchdowns after finally turning heads in training camp. Last year, Quick was held to just 10 receptions for 102 yards and zero touchdowns on 32 targets. That said, the Rams brought Quick back on a one-year deal in the offseason in hopes that the 27-year-old could still flash the ability he showed two seasons ago.

Fantasy Downside
There's an argument to be made that Quick needed a full year to recover from the devastating shoulder injury he suffered in 2014. That said, it's not like Quick has turned heads this offseason. When asked to summarize the state of the team's receiving corps in mid-August, Fisher mentioned Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin and rookie Pharoh Cooper. After also noting sixth-round pick Michael Thomas and undrafted rookies Nelson Spruce and Paul McRoberts were also in the mix, Fisher either forgot about Quick or purposely didn't bring his name up. Either way, that's not a good omen for Quick.

2016 Bottom Line
Quick ranks as our WR98 and is going undrafted in all formats this year. It's highly unlikely that he has a career revival this year, so avoid him on draft night.

STL WR Brian Quick - Week 3, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 3 vs. Pittsburgh
Brian Quick was a surprise inactive for a second straight week and it's a mystery as to why he hasn't dressed in the Rams first two games. After putting together a great camp and playing 30 snaps in preseason, it doesn't make sense why he wouldn't dress on game days. The only explanation is he's not ready to play 40-plus snaps and thus, St. Louis' coaching staff has opted to go with a receiver who can help on special teams instead. But he wasn't listed on the Week 1 or Week 2 injury reports, so one would think his shoulder is fine. Either way, he can be safely dropped in all re-draft leagues.

STL WR Brian Quick - Week 1, 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 1 vs. Seattle
The shoulder injury that Brian Quick suffered in October last year was viewed as career-threatening, but he recovered to have an outstanding camp, catching everything in his path and resembling the player he was at the start of last season. That said, the Rams want to be a run-first team and the passing game could be bogged down by an inexperienced offensive line. The Rams also open against the Seahawks, who own fantasy's No. 1 pass defense from last season. Quick is our WR53 for the week and should be avoided in all formats.

STL WR Brian Quick - 2015 Fantasy Football Outlook

Fantasy Upside
Brian Quick was on pace for 64 receptions, 973 receiving yards and eight touchdowns before suffering a devastating shoulder injury in a Week 8 loss to the Chiefs last season. Quick and Jeff Fisher have both said the injury was viewed as career-threatening at the time, but Quick has recovered to have an excellent training camp. Thanks to his size (6-foot-3, 218 pounds) and speed, Quick is the Rams best option to lead the team in receiving yards. As the team's No. 1 wideout, he is a legitimate WR3 with WR2 upside.

Fantasy Downside
Quick played in the Rams third preseason game, but wasn't with the starters and wasn't targeted. St. Louis may decide to take it slow with Quick, even though he looks fully recovered from the shoulder injury that robbed him of nine games a year ago. The other downside to Quick's fantasy potential is the fact that the Rams offense has a new quarterback, a new offensive play-caller and will be run-heavy this season. It could take awhile for QB Nick Foles to get the timing down with his new receivers, which has been evident in camp and preseason as the quarterback has been inconsistent. The Rams' offensive line has also been a problem due to inexperience, and if the unit doesn't gel quickly, the entire offense could be bogged down.

Bottom Line
Due to his skill set, Quick should receive the most targets among the Rams receivers this season. His production will be somewhat suppressed due to St. Louis' run-first offense, but at worst he's a WR3 with WR2 upside. Ranked as our WR49, Quick is worth a late-round flier.

STL WR Brian Quick - Week 8, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8: Quick vs. Chiefs
Brian Quick caught 2-of-2 targets for 33 yards in the Rams’ Week 7 win over the Seahawks. After taking a lot of unnecessary shots into double coverage on Monday night versus the 49ers, quarterback Austin Davis was more cautious in the passing game on Sunday. There were a few times where Davis could have taken a shot to Quick in one-on-one coverage deep but decided to live in the short-to-intermediate zone. While Quick remains the WR1 in St. Louis, Davis clearly isn’t going to give him a ton of chances to win on contested passes a la Calvin Johnson, A.J. Green or Julio Jones. Thus, at this point Quick is closer to a WR4 than a WR3 and ranks as our No. 43 overall WR for Week 7.

STL WR Brian Quick - Week 7, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7: Quick vs. 49ers
Brian Quick was targeted just four times on Monday night, catching one pass for 10 yards in the Rams’ Week 6 loss to the 49ers. Defenses are starting to bracket Quick more in coverage and with Austin Davis being under constant duress on Monday, the Rams’ passing game was grounded. The game showed that Quick isn’t going to be a wideout that St. Louis force-feeds passes to if he’s being bracketed in coverage. Thus, for fantasy purposes, it’s time to view Quick more as a WR4 than a WR3 with upside. Depending on the matchup and owners’ bye week situation, Quick could be a throw-in starter but he’s not going to be a reliable option on a weekly basis. With a bad matchup against Seattle coming up on Sunday, he’s our No. 39 overall WR for Week 7.

STL WR Brian Quick - Week 6, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6: Quick vs. 49ers
Brian Quick had another productive week for the Rams, catching five of nine targets for 87 yards and two touchdowns in St. Louis' loss to the Eagles last Sunday. He continues to be the Rams' No. 1 receiver and has developed a nice report with quarterback Austin Davis. Quick is off to a breakout season and should be owned in all fantasy formats. He's on pace for 84 receptions, 1,288 yards and 12 touchdowns and should be considered a solid WR3 for the time being. He ranks as our No. 24 overall WR for Week 6.

STL WR Brian Quick - Week 5, 2014 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 5: Quick vs. Eagles
Brian Quick caught only two passes in the Rams' Week 3 loss to the Cowboys but those two grabs went for 62 yards and a touchdown. Quick burned Morris Claiborne for his lone score, as the Dallas corner failed to stay over the top on a fly route in the first quarter. Quick continues to be the team's No. 1 option in the passing game, although defenses are starting to adjust. The Cowboys used a linebacker to play underneath Quick on several plays, including on Austin Davis' interception to clinch the game for Dallas late in the fourth quarter. Still, Quick is the Rams receiver to own in fantasy circles and is our No. 31 overall WR for Week 5. Consider him a low-end WR3 with a good matchup against Philly.
