I joined a first-year dynasty IDP league and we had our draft late in July. Because of how the scoring is set up, offensive players are much more valuable than defensive. Our bench allows for 20 players and I stocked up on lots of backup running backs. Some people took exception to this and said I was just hoarding rb's to which I replied I was and that I was open to trading. Instead, a league member posted a poll to the league at the commissioner's instruction limiting the number of running backs per team to 10. It received 6 votes to 4 in favor of the limit. (It was discussed prior to the draft about limiting positions and a 'no limit' policy was agreed upon.) The thought that something like this could happen and undo all of the work I put in up to this point was infuriating and enough for me to quit the league. Was I overreacting and being a poor sport or was it an amateur move by the league and commish to allow it to happen after the season started?

yeah, that's a shame. You did nothing wrong, in fact, did everything right to build your team. Shouldn't be punished for that. If they wanted to make it a rule, fine, then you follow it but to change it afterward isn't right. I agree, they are going to get more owners quit if they are adjusting rules on the fly like that.

I understand completely. I think if you want to make that change, you can, but you gotta grandfather it. Like, people can't add more RB's until they get under or something like that. Your strategy should've be ruined because of it.

I don't blame you... I mean, there was no rule for this, everyone and anyone else could have used the strategy. As I get up there in age, I've found myself less tolerable to this kind of stuff so I don't blame you at all. So what happened, were you forced to drop RBs from your roster to get to 10?

Thanks guys. I am not sure what would've happened had I stayed. Guys were changing their votes after I told them I was quitting. I know that after I left they did put that rule in force and the poor guy who inherited my team had to firesale the core of the team. Charles/Davis, Morris/Jones, Jennings/Vereen; all were sold off for pennies on the dollar. Even having the potential of something like that happening was enough for me to question the integrity enough to get out. Time will tell how this league plays out but I can't imagine a world where things like this happen AND that league stay intact for very long.
