2 questions here:
1: When drafting in a deep league either: 20 team 15 man roster or 12 team 20+ man roster (dynasty), finding a "top 300" ranking can be difficult. Does making the pick from the top 200 to 300th guy become more of personal preference or should i be focusing hard to make certain picks that late in the draft?

2: I heard John recently mention in one of his podcasts recently about drafting only 1 qb. I took over a 3 player keeper team (12 teams) couple years ago that already had andrew luck on it. If I dont draft a qb, dont I take the risk of picking up #22-27 ranked qb that MIGHT put up bad #'s vs drafting #12-18 ranked qb? This is a new idea to me and looking for more insight.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome Justin...

This, I think, is more about personal preference. If having a second QB makes you more comfortable, I say go for it. I'm in your boat, at least it seems. Personally, I'd likely draft a QB2 in a deep league somewhere along the line later in the draft that I'd at least feel comfortable with should I need to start him multiple weeks. Of course the argument is if you only need him a week, he's taking up a roster spot, etc. Which I totally get. If worse comes to worse and you need the spot, you can always drop him and monitor the wire for a replacement. This is something that just goes against what I call modern day fantasy. I've been playing since the 1990s when a lot of leagues made you carry an extra QB - at least mine did.

I think your first question is another "preference" thing, but when you're talking this range, I like to base a lot on hunch, or getting a handcuff, or an upside guy rather than just taking the player number, say, 235, because he's ranked higher than 257. I don't want to say to completely draft off the board, but this is a spot to at least take a couple of chances while trying to fill out your roster. I would think more times than not these are guys you drop once someone becomes a hot wire pickup anyway, but if you hit you're golden. I think it's still important to try and make smart picks, but it's also a good spot for a gamble or two as well.
