Hey,
I'm in a standard 12 team two keeper league and my team is currently 6-5. If I win this week I'm in the playoffs. The only problem is that my opponent had Calvin Johnson who went off for 27.3 points. He also had James Starks and Eagles Defense playing and hence has a total of 33.3 points with 6 players left. I did not have anyone playing yesterday. Initially, I wanted to start Matthew Stafford to essentially neutralize a big game from Johnon however, someone else already had Stafford on their team. His other WR is Sammy Watkins and hence I was thinking about starting Tyrod Taylor to essentially neutralize Watkins.

His team is also kind of terrible and has only put up a total of 735 points all year (which is last in our league). The second lowest scoring team has put up 870 points, just to give you a bench mark. Nonetheless, I also have terrible match ups this week and hence I'm really nervous.

My Team
QB: Tom Brady, @ Den
RB: Lamar Miller, @ NYJ
RB: Chris Johnson, @ SF
WR: Brandon Cooks, @ HOU
WR: Martivus Bryant, @ SEA
TE: Tyler Eifert, vs. STL
FLEX: Thomas Rawls, vs. PITT
Kicker: Josh Brown, @ WASH
DEF: Kanas City vs. BUF
OR Cincy vs. STL

Bench:
Stefon Diggs, @ ATL
Keshawn Martin, @ DEN
Karlos Williams, @ KC
Spencer Ware, vs. Buf
Jay Ajayi, @ NYJ

Opponents Team
QB: Blake Bortles, vs. SD
RB: James Starks, vs. CHI = 8 points
RB: Alfred Blue, vs. HOU
WR: Calvin Johnson, vs. PHI = 27.3
WR: Sammy Watkins, @ KC
TE: Julius Thomas. vs. SD
Flex: Shawn Draughn vs. ARI
Kicker: Blair Walsh, @ ATL
Def: Eagles, @ DET = -2 points

Anyways, thats our matchup and as you can see my match ups are horrendous. I also am worried about starting Brady to begin with because of how good Denver has been against QBs. Now coupled with the fact that NE is missing a ton of offensive weapons….

Anyways, again I was wondering what you think of my lineup and if you think I should pick up Tyrod Taylor and start him over Brady to essentially neutralize a potentially big game from Watkins?

Thank you so much for your help!

I wouldn't sit Brady. If you're looking for the safe lineup, Brady is the guy you want in there. Taylor is a much riskier option. I think you have your lineup right, and despite your bad matchups, I like what you've got going on. I like your odds. I think Brady will get you the right amount of points. Between Chris Johnson and Lamar Miller, you should have a solid amount of carries there to help you get points. I think Bryant and Cooks are both high upside guys that could pan out great for you. I don't think I'd change anything.

Also, I know the rankings are for start/sit but the main reason I posted my team and my opponents team is largely to show the match ups and that his team has considerably struggled. Hence, the strategy to minimize my floor rather than pursuing an "upside potential" strategy…….
