This is a really good article on auction drafting. That being said, there's a couple of things I want to just get some feedback on. I like to have formed a strategy going into my auction draft. For years it's been to spend as little on the QB position as possible to save money for WRs in my ppr league. At the same time, I believe in being flexible and adapting to the situation...in theory. Hypothetical: 12 team, ppr, $200 auction. Cam's suggested value based on roster requirements in $30 according to the tools on this site. With my previously stated strategy of not paying for QBs, how cheap would Cam have to be for you to council that I abandon that strategy and bid on him? I usually pick up the scraps on TE's for the same reason. Gronk's value is $27. Again, how much of a discount is too good to pass up and force a change in draft strategy? And if the discount is too good to pass up, and I get Cam or Gronk, where do I go from there? Just pick up values where I find them?

I might go after Cam at $15-20, which is about double what I'd like to ideally spend on a QB. Gronk, I would go for him about $20. That would put you at 10% or so each of your cap, and I'd probably take that off my third WR. I'd still spend on my top two backs and WR's (about 60-70% of your remaining cap), and then I'd try to get 3 cheap WR's at the 3-4-5 spots and hope one breaks open. Travis Benjamin, Torrey Smith, Mike Wallace... all those guys are available pretty cheap, and they all have high upside.
