12 team 2 QB League and 1st pick in the draft.

I'm not opposed to going with Brees or Manning in that kind of league, but I'm still rolling with backs in the top 5. In a 12 team league, you figure if you end up with the 12th and 24th QB (worst case scenario really), then you still get a pair of QB's like Cutler and McCown or Geno Smith. If everyone goes QB in the first and second round... fine, snatch up Montee Ball and A.J. Green with your second and third picks and let everyone else scramble to get backs and receivers.

Again, I'm not opposed to it, but if it's me, I'm still going with Shady or Charles.

Thanks for the response! I went the RB route and took Shady as my first pick, but still ended up with Nick Foles at QB in my draft. Not too bad, I guess.

@Wellman - You were right, there was a major run on QB's in the 1st, 2nd and beginning of the 3rd round of the draft!

I think you have to get a QB if it's a 2 QB league. The reason for passing on QB, is because there is plenty of depth when everyone only has to start one. When you have to start 2, that all changes. There will likely be a run, and the pickings will be slim when it comes back to you. Be at the front end of the QB run, then try to be at the front end of the next positional run when it comes back to you at teh 2-3 turn.

If it is PPR, maybe you could make a case for Charles #1 overall, but I would go QB.

For what it's worth, I like Brees over Manning this year. Denver wants to run more, while the Saints have improved at WR from last year. Either one is a can't miss #1 pick in a 2 QB league though.
