I have done a few auction drafts and used your customized auction values and it went well but recently I did a draft where all the bluechips were being overpaid for at all positions. I sat back and ended up with all the second tier guys. I did end up spending all my money and projected starter points 3rd highest out of 12 and best bench obviously but I feel like I could have done better. Am I correct in assuming that if everyone is overspending on all positions it's optimal to do so as well just not quite as much i.e. if Calvin Dez Demary go for 53 50 47 its correct to get ABrown for 40 even though price sheet says 33. It's tricky to know when everyone is going to be overpriced vs just a certain position is going to be overpriced before it's too late.

It's tricky.... but I usually target three or so guys at each position that I'm willing to overpay, and before the draft I map it out a bit (i.e. if I overpay McCoy by 10%, then bargain shop my RB3 and my WR2, then I can afford it). Then during the auction, I have new values for my main targets and I overpay up to two guys, then bargain shop the rest.

The WR's went really high it sounds like, but if you're overpaying Brown by that much money, then I'd have a hard time justifying it. I think getting fair market value on someone like Keenan Allen or Alshon Jeffery puts you in a better position than overpaying for Brown.
