Question guys. Redraft league, standard scoring. 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1 RB/WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEF starting roster. In our league you can trade your draft slot for draft slot but not individual picks. I could trade the #5 spot for the #1 spot. If there are mistakes made, the #5 pick could be gold but #1 overall would make it easier to gauge the overall draft. What do you think?

So just to make sure I understand, you are trading your spot in the draft at five, for 1, so you'll pick at the ends of the rounds instead of in the middle every round? If I'm wrong here, let me know...

This really depends on preference I guess. I've often thought about trading OUT of 1 to get to the middle of the draft certain years. In a standard league, I think Brown loses a little luster as the top pick because of all his receptions and no PPR points. But this year, getting to 1 gives you your pick of the top-three WRs if that's what you were looking at. Like you said, one could slip if there's a mistake made...which there usually are, but no lock.

I have no issues doing this deal as long as there is someone you really want with that first pick. If you're just fine waiting to see what falls and feel there is a bigger advantage staying in the middle each round, then I wouldn't do it. For me it really depends on the draft year to year as far as where I want to pick. I can easily see wanting to be at the top to nab one of those guys though. So if you agree, no problems making that deal.
