Hey,

I'm in a 12-team standard scoring keeper league where your allowed to keep only 2 players on your roster for next year. However, whoever you choose to keep you have to take them at least 1-round ahead of where you drafted them in the previous draft. For instance, if you drafted player X in the 6th round this past year and you would like to keep player X, you have to take him in the 5th round in the next draft. If you picked someone up off of the wavier wire and would like to keep them you have to take them in the 8th round. This cycle essentially continues yearly until you have to keep the player in the 1st round. Also because it is structured this way you can't keep players selected in the 1st round. Finally, I also don't have a 1st and 2nd round pick in next years draft (traded them away this year).

Anyways, I was thinking about keeping Jordan Matthews, WR PHI (who would be a 8th round keeper) and Gio Bernard, RB CIN (who would also be a 8th round keeper). Bernard was one of my keepers coming into this year. Also, if there are two players who can be taken in the same round you can choose any draft round to keep that player ahead of their lowest draft round. For example, with Matthews and Bernard if they were to be my keepers one of them I would keep in the 8th round and the other I would keep in the 7th round. Below are some other options and the round I would have to draft them in order to keep them.

Aaron Rodgers, QB GB- 1st round keeper
DeMarco Murray, RB DAL- unable to keep due to 1st round selection this past year
Dan Herron, RB IND- 8th round keeper
Calvin Johnson- unable to keep due to 1st round selection (traded for him during the season)
Jordan Matthews, WR PHI- 8th round keeper
Jimmy Graham, TE NO- 1st round keeper
Lamar Miller, RB MIA- 6th round keeper
Gio Bernard, RB CIN- 8th round keeper
Ronnie Hillman, RB DEN- 8th round keeper
Joseph Randle, RB DAL- 8th round keeper
Julian Edelman, WR NE- 6th round keeper
Mohammed Sanu, WR CIN- 8th round keeper

Sorry for the long post. Just thought it might be helpful to have a little of the back story.

Thanks for the help!

I think you have it right. I like Lamar Miller in the 6th right now... but not after the draft and free agency and a likely coaching change in Miami. I think he could still be good, but that backfield could look dramatically different by next season.

Jimmy in the first isn't terrible, but I'd probably rather just go with Matthews, who should be a mainstay in Philly, and Gio in the 7th, hoping he rebounds. If you can wait, then Miller might knock Gio off depending on how those depth charts look, but for now, I think you have it right.

I might consider Herron, but I think he's even riskier than Miller after the off-season.
