Just lost in the playoffs... someone hold me.

ODB Jr. will have a 14 round keeper value in my 12 team league. I want him until the day he retires.

We can trade picks, but I understand next to nothing about trading picks. What round should I offer? What round do I pick up from him? Is there a good article outlining how to look at trading picks?

Not really at this point on the article front... but basically, it depends how many keepers are in your league. If you're in a dynasty league, than picks are really just rookies each year, so lots of first rounders and prospects are thrown around every year.

Sounds like you're in a keeper. So think of it this way: Let's say you're in a 12 team league with 3 keepers. That means that a first round pick is really worth a fourth round pick in a redraft league. So if you're trading a first round pick for Beckham, and maintaining his 14 round keeper status, that's like saying "I'm giving up a 4th round pick, plus a 17th round pick, plus whatever player you won't be keeping if you have to drop someone in order to maintain Beckham... and I'm getting Beckham and whatever round pick you're now saving because of the guy you have to give up.

To be more clear: 12 team league, 3 keepers, I have Dez Bryant (2nd round), Andrew Luck, (5th round), and Mark Ingram (12th round).

To keep ODB, I have to drop someone... let's say Ingram.

So if I offer a first, then this is the way I would view the trade from my perspective:

I give up: a 4th round pick (value), Mark Ingram, and a 17th round pick (value)
I get back: a 15th round pick (value) and ODB.

Make sense?
