Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald was asked to compare Chris Hogan and former Patriot Brandon LaFell.
Hogan has 12 catches for 236 yards and one touchdown, including four catches for a career-high 114 yards in his debut with Brady. Hogan won’t approach LaFell’s 2014 numbers, but that’s also not fair considering the quarterback situation in Weeks 1-4. But can Hogan average 4.6 catches and 60 yards per game while scoring six touchdowns to keep pace with LaFell’s career-best contributions? That doesn’t seem completely unreasonable, but Hogan doesn’t need to post those numbers with the amount of talent around him to be successful. I think very highly of Hogan, and I’ve been led to believe Brady has adored him since the offseason.
Hogan's 4-114 against the Browns was a good start, but his five targets represented 12.5% of Brady's pass attempts in Week 5. To put this in perspective, in 2014 LaFell garnered 19.5% of the team's targets, so (small sample size alert) Hogan is currently working with a smaller share of the targets, by a significant margin. Consider Hogan a spot-start worthy WR4 going forward, but unless he sees more consistent targets (or manages to maintain this excellent per catch efficiency), he won't be a steady fantasy contributor.

Week 7 vs Cleveland
After a breakout game against Dallas, Brandon LaFell's numbers fell to two catches for 13 yards last week. The Bengals have really focused the passing game on A.J. Green and RB Giovani Bernard, so it's hard to predict which Bengals wide receiver is next on the pecking order.
LaFell deserves some consideration because of the matchup against an awful Cleveland pass defense, but not enough to give him a start. Keep LeFell on the bench for Week 7.
