When the squad convened at Rams Park for the start of training camp, Brandon Gibson and Mardy Gilyard figured to be key components in the Rams' passing game in 2010.
Two games into the season, Gilyard has been on the field for only a handful of plays at wide receiver. More surprisingly, Gibson hasn't even seen the field — he was on the pregame inactive list for the Arizona and Oakland games.
That could change this week against Washington. To a large degree, Rams wideouts struggled to get separation against the Raiders' secondary. In a 16-14 defeat, Rams wide receivers caught only seven passes for 67 yards. So coach Steve Spagnuolo and his offensive coaches are searching for answers.
"We have to find ways to get the ball to our wideouts and playmakers," Spagnuolo said.
