Westbrook setting sights on opener

The goal for Brian Westbrook isn't the Colts on Thursday and it's not the Jaguars on Aug. 27 and it's not the Jets in the last preseason game.

There's only one goal.

"Working toward that Panthers game," Brian Westbrook said.

Westbrook met with the media after practice Tuesday for the first time since undergoing ankle surgery in June and said he's on schedule to play in the Eagles' regular-season opener on Sept. 13 against the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.

"I think I'm right on time, right where I wanted to be," said Westbrook, who began practicing on Saturday. "I think that everybody here knows that you heal a little bit faster when you're younger, no question. I definitely feel good about how my rehab has come. I definitely feel good about how I am right now and the place I am right now."
