Wes Welker underwent successfully knee surgery

As expected, Patriots receiver Wes Welker underwent surgery today at Massachusetts General Hospital, a source told The Herald. The goal was to repair his torn knee ligaments in his left knee.

As you read last month, Welker was waiting and waiting to have surgery, as he chilled while his MCL got a little better. It was 30 days from when Welker tore his knee against the Texans.

The surgery was performed by Thomas Gill, the team doctor for the Patriots. Colleague Karen Guregian was told the surgery was a grand success. So that’s good for Wes and the Patriots.

And now, it’s time to rehab.
